Classroom Video Falsely Shared as Hindu Employee Hitting Muslim Woman Observing Roza

A video is circulating on social media with a claim that it shows a Hindu government office employee hitting a Muslim woman, who was observing fast (Roza) while she was nodding off during the working hours.

Sharing the video, the handle Md Rafiqul Islam Hoby claimed, “In a government office in Delhi, a Hindu colleague is wishing Good Morning to a tired Muslim female employee observing Roza by hitting her with a shoe. In the office, women’s character, chastity, honor, dignity, and safety are not secure in the presence of male colleagues. Many women have to work in various places because there is no man to support the family.” (Archived link)

Fact Check

In our fact-check, we extracted different keyframes from the video and ran a reverse image search of the frames. During this, we found the same video posted on the YouTube channel named Commando Academy Life.

Through the video, we found that the person seen in the footage is Virat Chaudhary, who runs Commando Academy. The original video appears to be recorded in a classroom setting, where a person sitting on a chair can be seen with a few books placed in front of him. He seems to be a student who had dozed off.

In the video, Virat Chaudhary enters the classroom and notices that the student is sleeping. He then greets him by saying good morning and tries to wake him up by lightly hitting him with a slipper. Virat Chaudhary can also be heard saying in the video that the student is in a sleep zone and is not waking up even after being hit with a slipper.

We also came across the second part of the video on the same channel, where Virat Chaudhary is seen asking the student whether he smokes. During this interaction, he again lightly hits the student with his slipper while questioning him.

Commando Academy is a training institute, run by Virat Chaudhary, that prepares students from across India for defence and police recruitment exams. We found many videos on the Commando Academy YouTube channel showing Virat Chaudhary interacting with students.

In conclusion, propaganda users are sharing a video with the communal claim that it shows a Hindu man beating a Muslim woman observing Roza in a Delhi Govt office. However, the claim is false. The video actually comes from the Commando Academy run by Virat Chaudhary. It shows him waking up a student who had fallen asleep during class by tapping him with a shoe. The institute provides coaching for defence and police recruitment exams.
