Fake News 11

On August 23, 2023, Sadaf Afreen shared a video clip of Azad’s statement from the event. She summarized his words as, “Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhim Army Chief, underlined the significance of Muslims in Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s constitution drafting process.” Afreen further remarked, “This perspective challenges those who question the involvement of the Muslim community in electing and sending Bhimrao Ambedkar to the Constituent Assembly.”

During our investigation, we found that Dr. Ambedkar was indeed elected as a Constituent Assembly member from Bengal during its inception. However, the region from which he was elected became part of Pakistan after the partition. Subsequently, the Congress supported Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s membership from the Bombay constituency. In essence, when the constitution was being formulated, Ambedkar was representing Bombay within the Constituent Assembly, rather than Bengal. Hence, the assertion that Ambedkar obtained the chance to compose the constitution solely through the votes of Muslims is inaccurate and misleading.

It was clear from the tweet that she was suggesting that Hindus are behind all this.
