A few days after false reports of the RSS and BJP operating a sex racket in an Indore massage parlour went viral on Twitter, a similar claim from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, is making rounds on Twitter.
The infographic from the Bolta Hindustan, which is notorious for posting misleading headline, is being shared widely on Twitter. According to the infographic, prostitution business was running in the hotel where the Bharatiya Janata Party office is situated.
A user replying under the tweet of wrestler Babita Phogat, shared the infographic of Bolta Hindustan and wrote that the BJP considers women as an object.
On June 10, another user going by the handle @/Vinita_Jain7 and @/putin_pandit sharing the same infographic quoted the BJP’s tweet talking about laying the foundation stone for the new BJP office in Delhi, where in the video JP Nadda referred to the office as sanskaar kendra, and wrote, “Nadda ji, is sanskaar kendra of this type?”
Apart from that we also found an old tweet of Sadaf Afreen who wrote, “Prostitution business was going on in the same hotel where BJP office is in Jaunpur, UP! City Magistrate arrested 10 people including 6 women in the raid! Are you watching what is going on in the name of patriotism?”

Fact Check
We started our research with a relevant keyword search in Hindi and English and came across a few reports on the incidents.
According to the Navbharat Times report, in the Olandganj market of Jaunpur, there is an office of BJP. Below the office there is a hotel called Gautam Budha hotel
A drive to clear encroachments from the city was being carried out under the direction of the City Magistrate. In the meantime, some locals claimed to the City Magistrate that the nearby Gautam Budha Hotel is a prostitution hotspot where the sex racket is running.
Further, hearing the complaints of the people, the City Magistrate along with the police team reached the hotel. During the investigation and raid, three young women were found sitting in a room. Also, the other three women were found with men in objectionable circumstances.
As per the Live Hindustan report, the packet of condoms and other objectional items were found in the rooms. The hotel manager present there was caught. The person who was running this racket was said to be a woman, who fled the spot.
After this all were taken into custody. Furthermore, according to the City Magistrate, a case has been registered against those men and the girls. At the same time, a girl seemed to be a minor, who was sent for medical examination.
Further, to become more assure, we did the keyword search for “BJP running a sex racket in Jaunpur” and came a report by TOC. According to the TOC report, City Magistrate Devendra Singh told that the BJP office was present above that which was closed without lock for months. It was discovered to be dusty when it was opened. The administration said that police station Kotwali is conducting an inquiry into people responsible for the sex racket in Jaunpur, taking significant measures. Additionally, the city magistrate was informed that neither the BJP office nor any individuals connected to the BJP are involved.
Besides, he further added that during interrogation it came to light that the sex racket activities in the hotel were being operated for the last 3 months whereas the office is lying closed for the last 6 months. Which proves that the office operator had no information about the objectionable activities happening in Hotel Gautam Budh.
Moreover, the reason why BJP’s name came in the controversy is because on the first floor of the hotel, there is a big board of the party city office. Because of this board the hotel building is less visible as a hotel, and more as a BJP’s office. However, there was no involvement of the party members found in the racket. Hence, the party’s name was dragged by the media to make it look more controversial.
Thus, the claim that the BJP is running a sex racket in its city office is misleading. Due to the presence of BJP’s office above the hotel, its involvement is being claimed which is not true.
