A video of a man, claimed to be an Indian, recording visuals of a collapsed building-like structure and authorities rescuing civilians is going viral on social media. It is being shared with this video that Israeli police have arrested an Indian man for recording footage showing widespread destruction near the Dimona and Arad nuclear facilities in Israel following an Iranian attack.

Sharing the video, the Pakistan based handle Zard si Gana wrote, “Israeli police have arrested an Indian man for filming a video showing widespread destruction near the Dimona nuclear facility and Arad, Israel. In the video, Indian laborer says that Iranian attack was extremely dangerous when a missile landed near Dimona.” (Archived link)

Another handle TMT stated, “An Indian worker was arrested inside the Entity after posting a shocking video revealing the scale of destruction near the Dimona reactor and the Arad area! The worker spoke candidly: The Iranian attack was very serious, and a missile landed directly near Dimona!” (Archived link)

Fact Check

In our fact-checking research, we conducted searches using the keyword “Israeli police arrest Indian filming Dimona,” but we found no credible media reports indicating that the Israeli police have arrested an Indian national for filming the destruction near the Dimona or Arad nuclear facilities. Major international and Israeli news outlets have not reported any such incident.

Furthermore, we also conducted separate searches using keyword combinations such as “Indian arrested in Israel” and “Indian man arrested Dimona.” Through these searches, we did not find any verified news reports confirming the arrest of an Indian national in Israel amidst the current tensions.

Recent news reports confirm that Iranian missile attacks targeted southern Israeli cities, including Dimona and Arad, resulting in injuries to civilians in residential areas and damage to buildings. However, none of these reports mention the arrest of an Indian individual for filming the destruction in that region.

In conclusion, the claim that Israeli authorities have arrested an Indian man for reporting widespread destruction near the Dimona and Arad nuclear facilities in Israel is fake and unfounded.
