A video went viral on social media in which a person can be seen sexually assaulting a cow. However, Propaganda X handler Crime Reports India shared the video and wrote, This happened in Ayodhya India. Hindu Priest (Pajeet) was caught sexually assaulting a Cow.

Another X handler Hassan Kurusee shared the video and wrote, A Pajeet (Hindu Indian) caught sexually assaulting a cow in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India. This is criminal.

Fact Check

During our investigation, we first Google reverse searched different keyframes of the viral video. During this, we came across a report from the Times of India, published on July 9, 2023. This report included a video that showed similar visuals to the viral video.

According to this report, a man named Brijesh Kumar Mishra, 57 years old, was arrested in Kanpur for allegedly sexually assaulting stray cattle in the Gujaini area. The arrest came after a complaint from Mayank Tripathi, the district convener of the Hindu Jagran Manch. Volunteers from the Hindu Jagran Manch provided CCTV footage from July 5, capturing the man engaging in inappropriate activities with bovines in the Gujaini area.

Joint Police Commissioner Anand Prakash Tiwari stated that the Gujaini police arrested Brijesh Kumar Mishra and filed a case against him under section 377 (unnatural offences) of the IPC, as he was accused of having unnatural sex with cattle. The police obtained videos and photos from the CCTV footage, revealing evidence of wrongdoing with various animals. The Joint Police Commissioner added that, at first glance, the accused appears to be suffering from some form of psychological disorder. “His neurological and mental checkups are underway. We will take any necessary actions in the interest of society,” he mentioned.

Apart from this, the report did not mention anything about Brijesh Kumar being a priest.

Following our keyword research, we stumbled upon a report by The Lallantop published on July 8, 2023. According to this report, the Uttar Pradesh Police arrested a man named Brijesh Kumar Mishra for engaging in unnatural activities with a cow.

The Joint Commissioner’s statement is also highlighted in the report, where it’s mentioned that the ongoing investigation has unveiled the accused’s mental instability. The Joint Commissioner expressed the need for medical, neurological, and mental checkups for Brijesh Kumar Mishra.

Moreover, This report also did not mention anything about Brijesh Kumar being a priest.

In conclusion, all the evidence gathered paints a clear picture, debunking the misleading claims that a Hindu priest recently assaulted a cow in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The incident, in fact, dates back a year, and the accused, Brijesh Kumar Mishra, is not a priest but an individual grappling with mental illness. Apart from this, the incident is also not from Ayodhya but Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
