On December 11, 2022, serial liar Sathish Reddy, propaganda journalist Swati Chaturvedi, and a Twitter user named National Forum tweeted a video of PM Modi with a caption that read, “No one can get between me and my camera.” In the 5-second video clip, it is claimed that the PM is asking Maharashtra’s CM, Eknath Shinde, to step back so that he can pose before the camera.

Did Prime Minister Modi really ask Eknath Shinde to step back in order to pose for the camera? Lets verify the video

Fact Check

We noticed a news ticker at the bottom of the video tweeted by the Twitter users and discovered that the 5-second video clip shared by them is from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Nagpur, where he flagged off the Vande Bharat Express from the Nagpur railway station.

To see the complete video, we went to PM Modi’s YouTube channel and found a 6 minute 25 second video from the Nagpur event. After watching the video, we found that the Twitter users shared a cropped video to mislead people.

While PM Modi is seen flagging off the Vande Bharat Express in the video between 56 seconds and 4:29 minutes, Eknath Shinde is standing right beside him on the left side. Following the train’s departure, Eknath Shinde took a little step back to make his way to the exit, but PM Modi turned to the left and stopped him to shake hands.
