The viral video of the husband beating his wife is a case of Domestic Violence

Recently, a distressing video has been circulating widely on social media, depicting a man mercilessly assaulting a woman believed to be his wife. However, amidst the viral content, several social media users have labeled it as a case of “Bhagwa love trap.” One such individual, Ashfak Shaikh, took to Twitter and shared the video, accompanied by a provocative statement. He wrote, “Today she is remembering the father whom she had kicked and went away. A few days ago, many people had explained this on social media, but she dismissed them as haters, encouraging a Hindu-Muslim divide. Now she appears to be enjoying secularism with her lover. I urge everyone to scrutinize this video and share it with young women as well.”

Moreover, Alongside his message, Ashfak Shaikh employed hashtags such as #bhagwalovetrap, suggesting a religious angle with the woman being Muslim and her husband being Hindu.

Another Twitter account by the name of Haq Ki Awaaz shared the viral video, accompanied by a straightforward message. The tweet read, “Watch this, brothers,” capturing the attention of its followers. The hashtags #Bhagwalovetrap and #Bhagwalovetrapisreal were employed, further fueling the notion that the video represented a genuine instance of such a trap.

Apart from this, this video also went viral on Instagram and Facebook with the similar claims of Bhagwa Love Trap.

During the investigation into the authenticity of the viral video, a significant breakthrough occurred when a reverse search led to a Dainik Bhaskar report published on June 3, 2023. The video shared in the report was similar to the viral video. Astonishingly, the report unveiled the stark reality behind the disturbing footage. The incident took place in Etawah, and the individuals involved were identified as Shivam Yadav and his wife Jyoti Yadav. The report detailed a shocking family dispute that unfolded in the Bakwar police station area, resulting in a horrendous act of violence. Shivam Yadav, driven by the intensity of the conflict, mercilessly thrashed his wife with a stick, causing her to reach a critical condition on the verge of death.

Moreover, according to the report, the gravity of the situation amplified when the video capturing the assault went viral, catching the attention of the public and triggering outrage. In response, the victim’s mother, Munni Yadav wife of Sughar Singh Yadav, courageously lodged a formal complaint with the local police station. As a result, Shivam Yadav, his mother-in-law, and father-in-law were all named as accused parties in the case, facing legal repercussions for their alleged involvement in the heinous act. However, according to the report, at present, the accused Shivam Yadav is still absconding.

Continuing the investigation, we came across another report from Newtrack, published on June 4, 2023, which featured the same visuals as the viral video. This report corroborated the earlier findings, shedding more light on the distressing incident. The incident took place in the village of Naharaiya, within the Bakewar police station area. It revolved around Shivam, a resident of the village, who was captured in the video brutally assaulting his wife, driven by baseless suspicions.

So, all these points prove that the viral incident depicting a husband mercilessly beating his wife has no connection whatsoever with the alleged “Bhagwa Love Trap” as claimed by numerous social media users. The verified facts surrounding the case reveal that both the accused, Shivam Yadav, and the victim, Jyoti Yadav, belong to the same community, dispelling any notions of religious or communal bias in this context.
