At this hour of crisis when the Government of India is working round the clock to safely evacuate citizens from the war conflicted areas, some social media handles are spreading fake information creating apprehension and unrest among family, friends and people of the nation that the government is not looking for the safety and interest of stranded Indian citizen in Ukraine.
A social media user with the username @niiravmodi on Twitter has shared data and claimed that only Hindustani students are tucked in large numbers in Ukraine while all other countries have evacuated their students and left only in single-digit. Interestingly this social media user has also claimed that Pakistan has evacuated all of their students and there is no Pakistani students are left in Ukraine!

To cross verify this claim we have checked news regarding evacuation in Ukraine by respected countries and we have found below data and information regarding this claim.
As per the Arab News, More than 10000 Arab students are stranded in Ukraine. Students expressed their displeasure towards the Saudi government for failing to take any prompt action for the evacuation of its citizens.
In the same news report, they have mentioned that 450 Iraqi students among 5500 Iraqis were in Ukraine. Students and citizens are trying to reach the Iraqi embassy but they are not getting a proper response. They crossed the border on their own and those who were not able to cross it, are still waiting to be rescued.
Similarly, news reports regarding Iran suggest that there are more than 5,000 Iranians working or studying in Ukraine. When we have checked for Libya we have found this report, in which it has mentioned that there are almost 3000 Libian citizens stuck in Ukraine.
In the ANI report, we have found that 2000 Pakistanis stuck in Ukraine mostly students are facing problems during evacuation Pakistani embassy made many claims about the safety and health of its citizen while the ground reality was the opposite to it. Then Indian national flag became the saviour for Pakistani students as they were given safe passage at various checkpoints.
As per the India Today report, out of estimated 20000 Indian students were in Ukraine. Of which 4000 returned before 24 February. 2000 students bought safely till Tuesday. According to Senior Minister, Joytiraditya M. Scindia 3726 more students has returned safely on1st March 2022.
From the gathered data and research it is clear that the claim made by the above Twitter handle is completely baseless. This is a malicious attempt to degrade India with misinformation.
