“The communal clash broke out in Karauli, Rajasthan after a motorcycle rally on the occasion of Nav Samvatsar (Hindu New Year), which was passing through a Muslim-dominated area. The aftermath of it was “Incidents of arson and vandalism on Saturday in the wake of stone-pelting at Hindus bike rally while passing through a Muslim-majority neighbourhood. The violence quickly escalated, shops & vehicles were burnt, as per police, about 35 people were injured in the clash. Around 37 shops have been burnt belonging to the people of that area. A report by Republic TV where eyewitnesses revealed the truth that it’s a pre-planned conspiracy by the Muslim neighbours: looted Hindu owner’s shops, told them to empty the shops some hours before the attack on Hindu bike rally when people didn’t adhere to such threatening of leaving & selling their shops the Muslim neighbours harmed them too. Police & fire brigade let ‘Karauli’ burn for 4 hours.

Matloob Ahmed, who is an independent councillor, has been accused of stone-pelting, inciting violence, and organizing a mob to attack the religious procession after stone-pelting took place during the procession in Futa Kot area of Main Bazaar Karauli on Saturday, the police acted promptly and arrested 46 people and detained seven people for interrogation. Police official said in the report of Indian Express: “Apparently, some muscle-flexing was going on from both sides for some time. Moreover, as per our initial feedback, there was some ‘extra’ preparation by some people on the rooftops. However, we are still investigating.

The FIR says the stone-pelting appeared to be “a pre-planned conspiracy”. Shops were burnt, and about two dozen persons were injured. A video has been surfacing on the internet which can be relied on a bit to bust the propaganda of some about all the shops being burnt were of Muslims only, but it is wrong.

As per the report of The Print, an FIR dated 3 April — the day after the clash — is filed under several sections of the IPC: Sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty); 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty); 307 (attempt to murder); 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings); 147 (rioting), 392 (robbery), 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others).
