Recently, a video of a woman confronting protesters during a BJP rally related to the Women’s Reservation Bill in Worli, Mumbai, went viral on social media. In the video, the woman is seen expressing frustration over a traffic jam that caused commuting difficulties and is heard saying, “Get out of here.” She was reportedly stuck in traffic for more than an hour while trying to pick up her child due to the road blockage. During the confrontation, she argued with the police and minister Girish Mahajan, demanding that the protest be moved to a nearby empty ground instead of blocking major roads and causing traffic congestion.

Later, the minister apologized for the inconvenience caused to commuters but said that the woman’s language was inappropriate. Following this, reports emerged on social media claiming that an FIR had been filed against the woman for protesting against the traffic jam during a BJP rally.

Taking up the matter on X, Supriya Shrinate wrote, “Irony died a thousand deaths BJP was protesting in Mumbai for women empowerment A woman lashed out against the traffic jam BJP first mocked her and now a police case has been filed against her. She was only claiming what is rightfully her’s – the roads of Mumbai!”
