A 51-second video clip is going viral on social media, showing a man allegedly sprinkling cow dung mixed with water on a few individuals. This video is circulating with the claim that cow dung was sprinkled on Christian preachers in Telangana during their outreach.

The video was uploaded by the YouTube user AK Blocks AMP with a title in Telugu that translates to, “Our Hindu brothers smeared cow dung on the pastors who came for religious preaching and sent them off to the other side of the village.”

Fact Check
At the start of our research, we conducted a keyword search using relevant terms. However, no recent media reports were found online during this process.
Next, we extracted different keyframes from the viral clip and performed a reverse image search. We discovered that this video was shared on Facebook in February 2020 by the user Eli World Mission. The caption of the post reads, “A group of missionaries and pastors entered one of the villages in India to preach the gospel to the poor and were attacked by the villagers. They mixed water with chili powder in cow urine and splashed it over the heads of the missionaries and pastors to prevent them from entering.” (Archived link)
A YouTube video titled “Cow dung in water and throwing onto pastors” was also found, uploaded by Ganta TV on February 8, 2020. The video has text that reads, “A Hindu man mixed cow dung in water and threw it onto pastors and evangelists who are spreading the word of God in the villages.”
Taking clues from here, in an advanced keyword search, we found a report about a similar incident reported by Asia News titled, “Hindu radical ‘anoints’ Christians with water and cow dung, as if they were Dalits,” dated February 8, 2020. According to the report, the incident reportedly took place in Machilipatnam Mandal, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, where a man chased Christian missionaries with cow dung mixed with water and sprinkled it on them.
