Congress has always stood against the construction of a Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. From denying the existence of Shri Ram to delaying the judgement in SC, Congress had pulled all their cards to stop the construction of Shri Ram temple.
Failed on all front, Congress started misinformation against Shri ram temple. Moreover, on February 20, 2023, a Congress worker, Sandeep Singh, made an outrageous claim. He claimed that 85,977 hectare of land are taken away from Dalits to build the temple. However, he later deleted the tweet.

Fact Check
We started our research by checking out the total area of Ayodhya. According to Wikipedia, Ayodhya’s total area is 120.8 km2 (46.6 sq mi).
Further, we converted 120.8 km2 to hectares using the Google converter feature. And found that Ayodhya’s total area is 12080 hectares of land, which is 73,897 hectares less than what is claimed by Sandeep Singh.
So, the claim of 85,977 hectares of land taken away from Dalits is false because Ayodhya doesn’t have this much land.
Moreover, after verifying the land claim, we tried to verify the other claim. We started further research by using google keyword “Land acquired to build Ram temple in Ayodhya” in both Hindi and English. We came across several media reports.
According to ABP report, Shri Ram Trust bought additional 37 Acres of land from a local named deep Narayan after paying 1 Cr. as compensation. Now, Ram Mandir Parishar is on 107 acres, which were 70 acres earlier.
The Ram Mandir is being constructed on 5 acres of land, which is 2.33 acres more than what it was allotted by the Supreme Court in 2019. Moreover, there is no information of huge chunk of land acquired by Shri Ram trust.
Besides, we filtered our research further using keywords such as “Dalits land taken away for building Ram temple” in Hindi and English. We found a report in Aaj Tak stating that Maharishi Ramayan Vidyapeeth Trust bought 21 acres (approximately 5 hectares) of land in 1992–1996 from Dalit Colony Manjha Barhata, situated near Ram Temple. Also, the land acquisition bypassed several financial regularities, and hence it was declared illegal by the Supreme Court in 2022.
However, Maharishi Trust is not looking after the construction of Shri Ram Temple. The Central Govt. has formed 15 member The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra trust for the construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya, in accordance with the Supreme Court.
Furthermore, our team tried to gather additional information from a media report about the Dalit colony of Manjha Barhata. According to the Dainik Bhaskar Report, UP Govt. is planning to install a 251-meter Shri Ram Statue in Ayodhya, and they are trying to acquire land in Manjha Barhata for this project. Besides, this project started before the 2017 Supreme Court verdict and has no connection with Shri Ram Temple construction.
Moreover, this project sees no development when it comes to land acquisition, and the new proposal being made is to pay the 4 times more than the actual land price for this dream project of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. However there is no account of forceful land grabbing happened against Dalit Community residing beside Ayodhya’s Ram Temple
Hence, after analyzing all the facts and media reports, our research concludes that the claim made by Twitter user Sandeep Singh is false and fictional.
