These days a video is going viral on social media in which it is being claimed that a woman from Amethi committed suicide in front of the UP Assembly due to the indifference of the administration and harassment by goons.
By sharing the viral video, users are tagging and criticizing Lok Sabha MP from Amethi and Union Minister Smriti Irani. Many people are also using the trend called ‘Smriti Irani Sharm Karo’ in this.
Apart from ordinary social media users, many officials of opposition parties are also sharing this video. The same video has been shared by Chhattisgarh Congress State IT Cell Secretary Manish Tiwari, Aam Aadmi Party Kaushambi Member Mohammad Rizwan, Mumbai Congress Social Media Executive Committee Member Vinay Pandey, All India Congress Workers Committee State President Mohan Murari Sharma and others. .

Fact Check
Due to the suspicious nature of the video, we started investigating it and found out that the viral video has nothing to do with the present time.
We looked at the Fact Check Department of Uttar Pradesh Police to investigate the viral video, in which the police clearly stated that this case is of year 2020, the misleading post has been refuted by the Lucknow Police.
To understand the whole matter further, we searched some keywords and found some media reports published in July 2020 related to the viral video, in which it was told that the woman Safia and her daughter, a resident of Jamo police station area of Amethi, set her self on fire due to dispute of drain. She had committed self-immolation in front of Lok Bhavan in Lucknow due to non-availability of justice. After which Safia died during treatment. While the daughter was undergoing treatment at the civil hospital.
After this incident, Lucknow Police arrested 4 people including Congress leader Anoop Patel, MIM leader Kadir Khan for allegedly hatching a criminal conspiracy behind the incident.
