An image circulating on X (formerly Twitter) shows BJP’s Hyderabad candidate Madhavi Latha holding a small device on the show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, sparking rumors that she is using a teleprompter, a device that displays enlarged text and is used to communicate with a speaker. Online users who propagated this viral photo are claiming that she relied on the script during the show.
The 49 year old Madhavi Latha is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Hyderabad on a BJP ticket against All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and four-time Member of Parliament (MP) Asaduddin Owaisi. She recently gave an interview to Rajat Sharma on his show Aap Ki Adalat.
User Asma sharing the viral image wrote, “Teleprompter makes a good orator. BJP is full of perfidious characters.”
Another user Rahul Agarwal also wrote, “Teleprompter makes a good orator. BJP is full of perfidious characters.”

The Only Fact team carefully reviewed the full episode of Aap Ki Adalat featuring Madhavi Latha on India Today’s official YouTube channel. At 7 minutes and 34 seconds into the video, Madhavi Latha can be seen holding a small device in her hand. The device or tool becomes visible again around the 10 minute time mark. Interestingly, she carefully wore the device on her finger, concealing it with her hand. Notably, during the conversation with host Rajat Sharma, there was no instance where she was seen glancing at the device.
Additionally, the device becomes fully visible at 26 minutes 18 seconds into the video.
We took a screengrab of the device and did a reverse image search. The search results took us to the Amazon shopping website, where we found out that the device that Madhavi Lata carried to the show is designed for worship, meditation and daily chanting. It is a digital beads counter. The website shows the clear image of the device. The description of the device says it is used for all kinds of meditation relaxation, decompression, active fingers, etc.
Furthermore, upon comparison, it can be seen that the device that Madhavi Lata was carrying has a striking similarity with the same structural design as the device shown on the Amazon site.
Additionally, we got another interview video of Madhavi Latha, in which she is seen carrying in her hand the same portable device designed for puja and meditation, and which has nothing to do with a teleprompter.
Conclusion: The device that Madhavi Lata had is designed for pooja, meditation and chanting in daily routine. The claim of her carrying a teleprompter is misleading.
