A video showing the tantrik healing a patient is going viral on social media. The video is apparently from a hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba zila.

On November 3, 2022, the fake news peddler Bolta Hindustan, taking jibe at the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh made a claim in their tweet by stating that patients in Mahoba zila’s hospital are being treated by Tantriks rather than doctors. Lets verify it

Fact Check

In our research using keyword search “Tantrik is treating a patient in Mahoba zila’s hospital in Uttar Pradesh”, we came across a report by Amar Ujala. According to the report, a girl was bitten by a scorpion in Kotwali Kulpahar, but government doctors treatment was ineffective. The victim’s relatives then contacted the tantrik, who treated the girl.

Similarly, another patient Ramdas, a resident of Chitaian police station, got himself admitted in the same hospital after being bitten by a Scorpion. While treating him the doctor gave him injection. Meanwhile, he also got treated by the tantrik.

According to another Medical Dialogues report, the family members said that the doctors were unable to heal the patient and that their condition was not improving so, they had brought the tantrik to conduct rituals to cure them.

The tantrik claimed to have healed two patients at the hospital and that their conditions had improved as a result of the rituals. He further stated that the patient attendants previously seeked his assistance.

Further, we also tried to know the response of hospital personnel. According to the Deccan Herald report, one of the doctors stationed at the hospital stated that he had no knowledge of the presence of tantriks at the facility.

The Bolta Hindustan’s claim that patients in Mahoba zila hospital are being treated by tantriks rather than doctors is misleading. The hospital was providing the treatment. It was the patient’s family members who sought the tantrik’s help when the patient showed no signs of improvement. The doctors were unaware of the presence of tantrik. Although the hospital had no involvement in this incident, their lack of knowledge of the tantrik’s presence at the hospital shows the hospital’s management system’s carelessness.
