Following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his involvement in the liquor scam, his wife Sunita Kejriwal stepped out of the shadows and emerged at the forefront to become the medium of communication between her arrested husband and his supporters. Sunita Kejriwal, who had zero political engagements till last month, was declared the key star campaigner for the Aam Aadmi Party. However, her newfound fame has also attracted attention on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter). On April 18, she reposted a tweet on her X account alleging that the BJP accepted donations from companies involved in the sale of cow meat as well as from Pakistan through electoral bonds.
The account, which runs with the handle @/Gss_Views, shared a clip of an Aaj Tak news report, in which anchor Anjana Om Kashyap is seen interviewing people of Rajasthan who are accusing the BJP of accepting donations from cow meat export companies as well as other companies from Pakistani. The user wrote, “BJP talks about Sanatan Dharma but is taking donations from Pakistan and companies that sell cow meat. – People of Rajasthan.” (Archived link)

Fact check
Claim 1: BJP accepted the donation from a cow meat-selling company.
Fact: When the Election Commission released the figures for electoral bonds, the false notion was spread that BJP had taken donations from a company selling cow meat. However, it was revealed that Allana, the company that donated the electoral bonds, was a buffalo meat-selling company.
The Business segment of the Allana Group website mentions that the Allana Group is the largest exporter of frozen halal boneless buffalo meat to more than 70 countries across the world. The product segment of the websites makes no mention of cow meat.
The Only Fact team contacted Allana Network. Speaking to our team, Allana clarified, “They are not involved in the export of cow meat. He emphasized that their expertise is specifically in the export of buffalo meat and not cow meat. Anyway, cow meat is banned in Maharashtra, hence such allegations are not justified.”
Furthermore, in response to Mrs Indra Rajpai’s 2019 RTI inquiry seeking year-wise data on beef exports of Indian cow breeds from 1947 to 2018, it was clarified that India does not export cow meat. “Export of beef (cow meat) is not permitted/permitted by the Government of India, hence, no export data available,” the response said. So, the allegation that Allana exports cow meat is completely baseless.
The row surrounding the cow meat-selling company donating to BJP arose when several media outlets highlighted that a beef exporting company had made donations to the BJP. However, it is important to note that the buffalo meat is also classified as beef.

Claim 2: BJP accepted donations from a company based in Pakistan.
Fact: The company which was alleged to be from Pakistan and had donated to BJP was Hub Power company. However, not Pakistan, but this company is based in Delhi. This company is registered in the name of Ravi Mehra. Readers can also confirm this by searching the GST number ‘07BWNPM0985J1ZX’ on the GST portal.
Apart from that, the website of India Mart also reveals that ‘Hub Power Company’ is a Delhi-based company that manufactures LED lights, it has nothing to do with Pakistan. Readers can access the complete fact-check report by clicking here.
Conclusion: The claim endorsed by Sunita Kejriwal that BJP took donations from a cow meat-selling company and a Pakistan-based company is false.
