With a 1.04-min video clip attached with the tweet, Timesnow journalist Imran Khan has claimed that hijab is written in the school rule book. He also targeted Hindus by saying the school is banning hijab-wearing students under pressure from Hindutva groups.

In the context of the above tweet, Mohammed Zubair of altnews targeted BJP in his tweets without checking what is written in the college rule book shown in the video clip.

Congress member Lavanya Ballal added fuel to the tweet of journalist Imran Khan, by claiming that BJP Karnataka is making it an issue due to the forthcoming election.

Seeing the above allegations, OnlyFact did a fact check on the 1.04-min video clip. In the video clip, it is written that girl students have permission to wear a “scarf” of the same color as a dupatta inside the school campus. There is no mention of allowing wearing “hijab” inside college campus in the college rule book.


The entire narrative of tweets clearly shows an effort by a section to target Hindus as a whole, and use it to fan Muslim sentiments in a negative manner to create unrest in the country.
