By doing reverse image search of the infographic in the post, we came across YouTube link where Prime Minister can be seen addressing a record gathering of 35,000+ Yoga enthusiasts on International Yoga Day, 2015.
In the video it can be seen that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is wrapping a tri-color scarf around his neck.
According to The Indian Flag Code 2002, clause number 1.1 clearly states that “The middle panel shall be white, bearing at its centre the design of Ashoka Chakra in navy blue colour with 24 equally spaced spokes.” In the same clause, it is further mentioned that the Ashok Chakra shall be completely visible on the both sides of the flag in the centre of the white panel.
Indian Flag Code, 2002, clause number 1.3 of the code- The National Flag shall be rectangular in shape. The ratio of the length to the height (width) of the Flag shall be 3:2
The shawl shown in the infographic is neither in the ratio of 3:2 nor it has The Ashok Chakra printed on the centre white panel. Hence it can be seen that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not wiping his face with The Indian Flag or insulting it.
Hereupon, the infographic claimed by Harish Goel, Spokesperson of The Congress Party Supriya Shrinte followed by The Congress IT CELL Member’s is deceptive.
