Fact Check

The letter, which is going viral on Twitter, is missing a few important elements, such as the authority’s signature, which is necessary for the letter to be genuine and valid. So, in the first step of our research, we decided to check the format of the letters available on the RSS page and compare it with the viral letter.

Further, our team searched through RSS’s social media pages and website and discovered a Facebook post from RSS. We compared both letters and discovered a few distinguishing elements like the design of the Om symbol in the top right corner, as well as the font style in both letters, differed. The moto “संघे शक्ति: कलौयुगेwritten underneath the Om symbol in the RSS letterhead is also missing in the viral letter. Moreover, the color in the header of the original letterhead is orange. However in the viral letter, the red font is used in the header to write the name of the RSS organization in the English language.

The RSS original letterhead and the viral letter

Not only that, the viral letter states that the confidential letter was issued by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, but it doesn’t consists of his signature.

Furthermore, we contacted the RSS media cell, and in a conversation regarding the viral letter they clarified that RSS had not issued any such letter and it has no connections to it. Moreover, the letter has been tampered in order to harm the RSS’s image.

Hence, the above-mentioned fact proves that the viral letter is a forgery. Moreover, the Islamists are using this propaganda to discredit the RSS and to propagate the narrative that the way Hindu girls are being lured into love jihad trap in the same manner that Hindu organisations are planning conspiracies to trap Muslim girls.
