Video showing Kakoli Ghosh reprimanding Amit Shah is edited
A video from inside the Parliament is going viral on social media in which a female MP is seen scolding Amit Shah. With this video it is being claimed that MP Kakoli Ghosh reprimanded Amit Shah on the issue of GST and asked him to sit down.
Amoxicillin sharing the video wrote, “She is Kakoli Ghosh. She classed HM Amit shah in the parliament on the issue of GST on everything. She silenced Amit Shah in her Style. Kudos to this Brave woman Leader Kakoli Ghosh.”
Vikas Bansal asserted, “GST on everything. Kakoli Ghosh silenced Amit Shah.”
Dipankar Kumar Das stated, “She is AITC MP, Dr. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. She classed HM Amit shah in the Parliament on the issue of GST on everything. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar silenced Amit Shah in her Style.”
The video was also shared by other handles like Abdul Mannan Sait Bidar and Bavachan Varghese.

To fact-check the viral video, we extracted keyframes and performed a reverse image search. The search led us to a video uploaded on Sansad TV’s YouTube channel on August 1, 2022. In the full video, the portion circulating on social media can be found at the 12:30-minute mark, where Kakoli Ghosh, while discussing inflation, reprimanded MPs for interrupting and asked them to keep quiet. However, Amit Shah does not appear in this video.
Furthermore, to view the complete version of Amit Shah’s part, we conducted an advanced search. This search led us to a video uploaded on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s YouTube channel. In this video, Home Minister Amit Shah is seen requesting Asaduddin Owaisi to accept Z security following an attack on his convoy in the Rajya Sabha.
The clips viral on social media are taken from two different videos and edited to falsely depict that Amit Shah was reprimanded by the female MP over the GST issue in Parliament.
