Amid heavy rain across the country, a video of a girl slipping into a roadside drain is going viral on social media. Many social media users are claiming that the video is from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Manish Singh Yadav, the leader of the SP, Prakash Raj (the parody account), BKU (the MP), Shamim Akhtar, the vice president of the Jounpur SP district, KP Pathak, the former vice president of the Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress, Sonu Patidar, and other social media users have all shared this video on their respective social media pages with a mocking caption “This is not a river, it is a road in the Prayagraj region of Uttar Pradesh.”

Fact Check
Our Only Fact team conducted research to cross-verify the video because it seemed suspicious.
We used a reverse video search tool to find the truth of the viral video. Through Google’s reverse image search, we discovered multiple tweets saying that the video is from Delhi’s Begumpur village.
In further research using Begumpur keyword, we discovered a similar video on Facebook posted on August 23, 2022, by Sachin, Chief Advisor of Sadaiv Jan Vikas Jan Kalyan Resident Welfare Association Begumpur.
In the comment section replying to a Facebook user, Sachin clarified that the girl is fine.
In addition to this, the Delhi Jal Board also commented on the tweet of Sachin’s video from a local news outlet. The Jal Board informed that the complaint has been forwarded to the relevant wing for redressal.

It is evident from all of the evidence that the girl in the viral video who fell into the drain is not from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh but rather from Barwala Road in Begumpur Village, which is part of Delhi’s Bawana Assembly Constituency.
