The video shows Golzan with her dementia-affected father
A video is going viral on social media in which an elderly man is seen showing affection to a woman. This video is being shared with the claim that the elderly man has an illicit relationship with the woman.
Sharing the video, the handle Karishma Aziz wrote, “71 year old man and 21 year old girl. Boys, do you still want to live.” (Archived link)

The video was also shared by other handles like Monalisa (Archived link) and Pardeep Kumar Yadav (Archived link).
During our research, we took a keyframe from the viral video and performed a reverse image search. In the process, we found the same video on an account named @demans_ma_.
The caption on this video was written in Persian and included several hashtags. When translated into English, the caption reads “Dad,” and the hashtags include terms like dementia and Alzheimer’s. (Archived link)
The caption and hashtags suggest that the elderly man in the video is the girl’s father, and he is suffering from dementia.
Then, we checked this page’s bio, which says, “I am Golnaz, and here I share the experience of caring for my father’s dementia with the aim of raising awareness and helping caregivers.” This clarifies that the elderly man and the woman seen in the video are father and daughter.
Later, we explored this account further and found a post from October 10, 2024, featuring Golnaz with her father. When we translated the caption of the post, we discovered it said, “Because dementia and Alzheimer’s patients often lack the ability to anticipate many of our behaviors, their minds can frequently misinterpret situations. When carrying out hygiene-related activities for dementia patients, you can try to reassure them that you’re being careful to ensure they don’t get hurt and that you’re fully attentive to them. You can even use phrases like, “I’m taking care of you,” “I’m fully focused on you,” or “I’m here so you can feel at ease.” (Archived link)
We later found a post from Golnaz dated May 10, 2022. In the post, Golnaz talks about her father’s illness and writes, “Don’t let today slip away in dementia! There are thousands of factors that affect the progression of dementia, and it may be nearly impossible to control even a handful of them. If we sit every day hoping for the disease to stop, we will only lose the moments of being with our loved ones. Don’t forget, a dementia patient might be able to say a sentence today, but in six months, they may only be able to respond with a word. So, don’t waste the opportunity. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that every reaction or action our body takes is commanded by the superpower of the body, the brain. And when the brain experiences degeneration and damage, even seemingly simple tasks become challenges.”
Golnaz continues, “I remember once asking about my father’s eating habits in the ‘Familiar Pain’ group of caregivers. A lady replied, ‘My husband can no longer swallow, and I wish he could go back to the time when he struggled to eat but could still do it himself. Enjoy your father today, one day you’ll regret not appreciating today, with all its challenges.’ I was upset with that lady and wrote to her, ‘We hope my father’s disease will stop, and we never reach the day when we regret today.’ Later, I realized I had been looking at dementia too idealistically, and my response came from my inexperience. My mind was waiting for a miracle, and I was in constant anticipation of the end of this crisis. Now, every day I spend with my father, I remind myself in the back of my mind to truly enjoy today, and when each day ends, I know I owe nothing to dementia for the moments I didn’t live.” (Archived link)
All these points make it clear that the woman seen in the viral video is Golnaz, and the elderly man is her father. Golnaz’s father is suffering from dementia. On her Instagram page, she regularly shares videos and pictures with her father and is actively spreading awareness about dementia and Alzheimer’s. The video of Golnaz with her father is being circulated with a false claim.
