Viral Video Claiming Explosion at Indian Army Post After Pakistan Attack Is Fake, Footage Is from Myanmar
Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, a video showing heavy gunfire and explosion has gone viral online. Several Pakistani social media handles are claiming that Pakistan has destroyed the Indian Army’s Pokaran Mod post in Baghsar.
An X handle named Eagle Eye posted the viral video and wrote, “Another attack – Pakistan destroyed the Indian Army’s Pokaran Mod post in Baghsar.”
War Analyt wrote, “Update – In the Pokaran-Baghsar sector, Pakistan destroyed the Indian Army’s mortar posts – a brilliant response.”
Defense Intelligence wrote, “The Pakistani Army has destroyed the Indian Army’s Pokaran post in Baghsar.”
X handles named Imran Khan and Taimur Malik also shared the video with the same claim.

During our investigation of the claim, we conducted a reverse image search of the keyframes from the viral video. This led us to a similar image posted on March 7, 2024, by an X handle named Khit Thit Media. According to the post, “Near Laiza in Kachin State, a coalition force led by the KIA captured nine military council posts at the Phone Byu Bum camp.”
As per a report by Khit Thit Media, the firing video is from Kachin State, Myanmar, where a coalition force led by the KIA captured nine military council posts.
