Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, a photo claiming to show a missile attack on an Indian S-400 air defense site in Adampur is going viral on social media. Several Pakistani handles on X (formerly Twitter) have shared the image, claiming that unknown missiles and drones targeted the site.

Defence Pakistan wrote, ‘BREAKING: Indian S-400 air defense system site in Adampur hit by unknown missiles and drones.’

The Intel Consortium wrote, ‘BREAKING: Indian S-400 air defense system site in Adampur hit by unknown missiles and drones.’

Ironclad wrote, ‘BREAKING: Indian S-400 air defense system site in Adampur hit by unknown missiles and drones.’

Meanwhile, X handles named Imran Khan and Defense Intelligence have also shared the image with the same claim.

Fact Check

During the investigation of the claim, we performed a reverse image search of the viral photo. We found that the image had been published in reports on the websites Politico and RBC-UKRAIN on July 22 and July 26, 2023. According to those reports, the image shows a drone attack by Ukraine on a Russian ammunition depot in Krasnogvardeysky, Crimea.
