An image is going viral on social media, showing individuals carrying the Israeli flag while appearing to walk over the Indian flag, as a sign of disrespect. The post claims that while India shows unwavering support for Israel regarding the Palestine issue, Israelis are seen trampling the Indian flag in return. These posts are clearly intended to incite discord between the two nations. However, the truth is that the viral image is not real, it has been generated using artificial intelligence.
Nazneen Akhtar claimed, ‘Bhakts, look at your father, what respect has your father given to the Indian tricolour. Wake up cow dung devotees wake up. If your dung filled eyes still do not open then understand that you are dead, and why wake up a dead person.’
We began our fact-checking process by searching for credible news reports related to the incident. However, we were unable to find any verified reports confirming that Israeli citizens trampled on the Indian flag.
Next, we ran the viral image through an AI image detection tool, which confirmed that the image was generated using artificial intelligence.
Additionally, a closer inspection of the image reveals several inconsistencies and visual anomalies. For instance, the Israeli flags appear to be floating in the air, with no one visibly holding the flagpoles suggesting they were digitally inserted. On the left side of the image, a person wearing a navy jacket appears to be missing an arm, and another individual beside him has an unusually large index finger while the rest of the hand is not visible. Moreover, the facial features of the people in the image appear unnatural and distorted, further indicating AI manipulation.
