The claim raised doubts because as per The Indian Express report, Virat Kohli turned vegetarian back in the year 2018 due to some health issues. Apart from this, his wife, Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma has also been practicing vegetarianism since 2015.

So, we ran a reverse image search to find the real story behind the bill’s screenshot. The reverse image search led us to an article by News18. The headline of the article is, “US Man Ends Up Paying Rs 45K at Gordon Ramsay Restaurant After Misreading Menu.” A man named Jeffrey Paige from New Jersey, USA, reportedly went on a dinner date and tried a new dish without bothering to go through the rate card. He purchased a 12-ounce portion, believing the 5A Japanese Kobe to be less expensive than the American Wagyu. He quickly realized his error, though, when a bill for $600, or Rs. 45,000, was delivered to him. This incident happened at the Atlantic City Hotel’s Gordon Ramsay Steak restaurant in the year 2021. The couple ended up paying 45k due to their ignorance. They later uploaded the bill on the internet which went immensely viral.
