A video of a press conference is going viral where it is shown that men in uniform walk out of the conference. The video is being shared by Pakistani handles with the claim that Indian Army generals walked out of the meeting, saying, “We are not capable of fighting a war against Pakistan.”

Ragrey Shah posted, ‘Indian Army generals walked out of the meeting. They said We are not capable of fighting a war against Pakistan. Modi still wants war, but his army isn’t capable of fighting.’

Anas Bukhari claimed, ‘Today, the true face of India was exposed. Top Indian Army generals walked out of crucial meetings, admitting they are not ready to face Pakistan in a real war. Modi might beat the drums of war, but his army knows the reality they are not capable of standing against Pakistan’s might. Their false pride has been shattered! This is the reality behind their hollow threats. Reality Check for India.’

Bakhtawar Shah wrote, ‘A group of Indian Army generals reportedly walked out without giving a statement during a press interaction, leading to a journalist expressing disappointment by saying, “What a shame, you can’t even fight with the Pakistan Army.”

Fact Check

We began our fact-checking process by performing a reverse image search on the video. The search led us to an Instagram video shared by Pathankot Updates on March 26, with the caption, “DGP Punjab and Army officials press conference.” This makes it clear that the video is a month old and unrelated to the recent escalation between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attack by Pakistani terrorists.

Further investigation revealed that the press conference video was shared by the Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Mr. Gaurav Yadav, IPS, along with Army officers on March 25, 2025. The conference was held at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh. The press conference focused on ensuring a “fair and honest investigation” in a “transparent and time-bound manner” to punish those responsible for assaulting Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath.

In March 2024, Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath was assaulted by 12 Punjab Police personnel over a parking dispute, along with his son. Bath later filed a plea in the High Court, seeking to transfer the investigation to the CBI or another independent agency, claiming that a fair investigation was impossible under the Punjab Police.

To ensure a fair probe, transparency, and justice, and to prevent the issue from escalating into an “army versus police” situation, DGP Punjab and Army officials held a joint press conference. During the conference, DGP Gaurav Yadav stated, “Security cover has been provided to the family of Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath… The Punjab Police reiterates its highest respect for the Indian Army and is committed to upholding and maintaining the dignity of Army officers. Any person who has assaulted a serving Army officer shall be dealt with severely in accordance with the law.”
