A social media video, recorded inside the aircraft, is going viral with the claim that it shows live footage from the recently crashed Boeing 787 Dreamliner on its Ahmedabad to London route.

Koot pench wrote, ‘A Facebook Live video has surfaced reportedly moments before the tragic planecrash near Ahmedabad, Gujarat involving Air India flight AI171.’

Fact Check

We began our fact-checking process by performing a reverse image search on a keyframe from the video. This led us to a video uploaded by The Economic Times on YouTube on 16 January 2023, titled: “Last moments of passengers onboard Yeti Airlines which crashed in Nepal.”

Additionally, we came across a relevant report by LiveMint published on 27 January 2023. According to the report, the Yeti Airlines flight crashed in Pokhara, killing all 72 people on board, including five Indian nationals. The flight was traveling from Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, to Pokhara, the country’s second-largest city nestled beneath the scenic Annapurna mountain range. It was Nepal’s deadliest air disaster in three decades.
