A state of emergency has been declared as the fires have destroyed more than 12,000 structures and is threating the whole community. The cause of the wildfires is still unclear and is being investigated. Meanwhile, social media is buzzing with numerous videos of the fires, which are being attributed to the California wildfires.A video of a bus crashing into pole and causing explosion is being shared with the claim that the video is from the California wildfires.

In our fact-checking research, we first performed a reverse image search on the keyframes extracted from the video. During this process, we found a report by the New York Post dated November 26, 2024, titled ‘Wild video shows flaming, out-of-control bus crashing into power pole.’ This report included the same video of the bus, consumed by flames, crashing into a pole and exploding.

According to the report, a horrific incident took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil on November 26, 2024, where a passenger bus operated by SPTrans caught fire and crashed into a power pole. The fire was caused due to an electrical fault.

The driver evacuated all the passengers to safety just before the fire broke out. The bus then crashed into the power pole, causing a massive explosion. No passengers were harmed.
