Video of Domestic Worker Assaulted in Karachi Falsely Linked to India

A video showing a man physically and verbally assaulting a woman while another woman tries to intervene and stop him is being shared online. The video of woman being assaulted is being attributed to India with the claims purportedly suggesting the mistreatment of women.

Sharing the video, a handle Aashiq wrote, “Violence against women is normal in Hindutva society. Female infanticide, honor killing, dowry death, rapes- India tops the chart when it comes to crime against women. Acc to a report nearly 6 million female infanticide cases hv bn registered. Another user asserted, “Her only crime was stepping outside the role assigned to her. Indian men and their fragile masculinity responds with violence driven by a pathetic, egoistic, perverted, violent, toxic, abusive, parasitic, control-obsessed mindset. Fact Check

In our fact-check research, we took keyframes from the viral video and ran a reverse image search. During this, we found a report by Geo News, in which we spotted a same keyframe from the video in question.

In this report, it was found that the video is from Karachi’s buffer zone, Pakistan, and dates back to December 11, 2025. Ut shows a incident of a domestic worker, named Yasmeen Bibi, employed at a man named Iftikhar, being brutally assaulted by a suspect identified as Noman.

According to the report, the attack occurred after Yasmeen had an argument with Noman’s wife. The following day, as Yasmeen was leaving Iftikhar’s house as per her routine, Noman confronted her on the stairs and began beating her. Yasmeen was rescued by local residents, and Noman was subsequently charged under several sections of the law.

Another report by The News Pakistan, also confirms that the incident reportedly took place in Pakistan. Hence, the claims attributing the video of a man physically assaulting a woman to India is false and misleading.
