A video is going viral on X showing a man washing glass bottles in extremely dirty water, for reuse. Social media users are sharing the clip claiming it is from India, mocking the country by saying that despite being the world’s fourth-largest economy, it still washes Coke bottles in toilet water. The video is being circulated with the intent to portray India and Hindus in a negative light.

Fact Check
We began our fact checking process by performing a reverse image search of the viral video. This led us to an Instagram post by Syed Zeeshan Zaidi, shared on February 8, with the caption “Preparations for Ramadan are in full swing in Pakistan.” The account belongs to a user based in Pakistan.
Upon closely examining the video, we noticed that the bottles are being taken from a container labeled Shezan. A Google search revealed that Shezan International Limited is a Pakistani beverage company headquartered in Lahore. The company produces popular brands such as All Pure and Twist and is best known for its mango drink Shezan Mango, which is widely consumed in Pakistan.
Additionally, we found another similar video on Facebook, posted by a Pakistan based account named KP Food Diaries, showing a beverage seller using similar bottles stored in a Shezan crate, matching the one seen in the viral video.
In conclusion, the video is from Pakistan, not India. The presence of the Shezan crate, which belongs to a Pakistani company, along with supporting posts from Pakistani social media accounts, confirms the video’s origin. It is being falsely circulated with a Hinduphobic narrative to defame India.
