Unveiling the Truth: Exposing the Misleading Narrative Behind Karni Sena Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s Tragic Death

On December 5, 2023, distressing and alarming scenes shook many as Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the Chief of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was tragically shot to death by unknown assailants. Instead of an immediate outcry for justice, the ugly game of political maneuvering took precedence yet again. Congress leader Rana Sujeet Singh shared the video of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s murder on X and wrote, As soon as the government changed in Rajasthan, news of the beginning of Jungle Raj started coming. Congress spokesperson Dr. Arunesh Kumar Yadav shared the viral video of Sukhdev Singh’s murder on X and wrote, A horrifying picture of Jungle Raj in Rajasthan.

Moreover, Parmindar Ambar also shared the viral video and wrote, Jungle Raj has started in Rajasthan.

It is clear that all the above tweets indicate a direct accusation toward the BJP for the incident, clear in their pointed targeting.

So, is it true that the reason for Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s murder is that the BJP brought jungle raj to Rajasthan again after coming back to power? Let’s Fact Check.

During our investigation, while conducting keyword research involving Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s plea for security from the Rajasthan government. During this, we came across a video on the YouTube channel “thinQ360” capturing Gogamedi’s distressing plea. In the video, Sukhdev Singh can be heard saying if the administration and the police have input that to kill Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi enemies have bought AK 47 then why you are not giving me the security? Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s apprehension for his safety was evident as he addressed a gathering at Vidyadharnagar Stadium in Jaipur on April 2, 2023, forewarning of potential threats to his life.

After this, we found another important video on News18 Rajasthan’s official Facebook page. In this video, the National Secretary of Karni Sena, Mahipal Singh Makrana talked about Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi asking for security from the Rajasthan government for three years, but not getting any. He said that during Ashok Gehlot’s time as the head of the home department, there was a lot of disorder and crimes. He said that Gehlot should be held responsible for these problems.

Next, we stumbled upon another crucial video on the Karni Sena official Facebook page dated December 5, 2023. In this video, Karni Sena National President Suraj Pal Ammu directly blamed the Gehlot Government for Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s tragic murder. He highlighted that although initially granted security for just two days, it was abruptly withdrawn by Gehlot’s administration. Ammu emphasized that despite Sukhdev Singh’s personal plea to Ashok Gehlot for continued security, it was not provided. He firmly stated that if proper security had been given, this devastating incident could have been prevented.

Following our investigation, we encountered a report by India TV released on December 6, 2023. The report disclosed details from March of the same year when Punjab Police had forwarded intelligence to Rajasthan’s Director General of Police (DGP). The intelligence indicated that Sampat Nehra, incarcerated in Bhatinda jail, was allegedly plotting to assassinate Gogamedi. Sources revealed that Nehra had made attempts to acquire an AK-47 for this purpose.

Furthermore, we uncovered an advisory letter from the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan. The letter explicitly directed Gehlot to continue working normally until the formation of a new government in Rajasthan. This means BJP government is not in office for now and Congress still has a caretaker government in Rajasthan.

Hence, all these findings debunk the accusations suggesting that the BJP is responsible for reinstating lawlessness in Rajasthan, leading to Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s tragic demise, as false and misleading. Contrarily, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi had persistently sought security from Gehlot’s government for three years. Additionally, Punjab Police had alerted the Rajasthan DGP regarding a potential threat to Gogamedi, yet no preventive measures or security were implemented.

Consequently, the absence of security measures emerges as the primary cause behind Gogamedi’s unfortunate murder. Therefore, if accountability for the breakdown of law and order and the regrettable loss of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi is to be assigned, it squarely falls on Ashok Gehlot’s government.
