While investigating these claims, we found a reply on this matter from the official X handle of Bhadohi DM in the comments section of a post in which it has been told that illegal construction was done by encroaching on the pond land in village Kasidaha, tehsil Gyanpur. Following the order received from the High Court, the demolition action was carried out by a joint team of Revenue and Police.

Next, we searched this matter on Google. During this time, we came across a report by Dainik Bhaskar published on February 1, 2024. According to the report, encroachers had illegally occupied the pond land in Kasidaha village of Bhadohi and built a house. The case regarding the pond land was going on in the High Court, after which the court, while hearing the matter, ordered removal of the encroachment. After this, following the orders of the court, the police and revenue team demolished the illegal encroachment with the help of bulldozers.

After this, with the help of a local journalist, we contacted the former head of the village, Anil Maurya. Anil told us that people had encroached upon the land of the village pond. The encroachment was removed after the court order. The allegation of caste discrimination is wrong.

Furthermore, Anil Maurya gave us the mobile number of the village head Savita Devi. When we contacted that number, we spoke to Savita Devi’s husband Komal Ram Chamar. Komal Ram told us that more than 30 people in the village had built their houses by filling the government pond. In this case, government property has been vacated on the orders of the High Court. Komal Ram also told us that all of them have their own private land, yet they were still occupying the pond.

Hence, the assertion that bulldozers targeted houses based on the caste of residents is found to be misleading. The reality reveals a legal battle over encroachments on pond land in Kasidaha village. The High Court, after due consideration, issued orders for the removal of these illegal structures.
