This picture is going viral after a clash happened between the army of India and the army of China on the borders of the two countries in Arunachal Pradesh.

Congress supporter Santosh Marvi while sharing the viral picture tweeted, “Modi Ji is not showing red eyes instead he is staring at red eyes and greeting them”.

However, this photo has also been shared before. In past this photo was shared by Congress leader Devashish Jarariya.

Fact Check

Starting the investigation, we first reverse-searched the viral picture on Google. During our research, we came across a news article published by The Hindu on October 11, 2019. According to this article, Chinese President Xi Jinping, who was on a two-day visit to India, had reached Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu where he was welcomed by PM Narendra Modi.

During this time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President were seen at the Five Rathas. The Five Rathas are among the monuments in Mamallapuram under the administrative control of the Archaeological Survey of India. Moreover, the five Rathas, associated with the five Pandava brothers of Mahabharata, are among the nine monolithic temples found in Mamallapuram.

The picture used in The Hindu and India TV article matches perfectly with the viral picture, but the Prime Minister is not bowing down to greet Xi Jinping in these pictures. So, this means that the viral picture is Photoshopped. In the original picture, PM Modi can be seen talking to Xi Jinping.

We also cross-checked the viral photo with the photo analysis website FotoForensics. During this, we saw ELA which shows tampering in the photo.
