The Congress party is on the Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, with the goal of resurrecting the Indian National Congress’s lost strongholds. The Congress party’s officials and supporters are trying their best to take the party’s narrative ahead and show that Rahul’s yatra is a success and many people have extended their support for him.
Recently, an image of an auto rickshaw with the slogan “Desh jumlo se nahi chalega Pradhan Mantri Rahul Gandhi banega” (The country won’t run on wordplay, the next Prime Minister will be Rahul Gandhi) has gone viral on social media. Many Congress leaders have shared this viral image on Twitter.
Kamleshwar Patel, a Congress MLA, uploaded the image with the caption, “People have learned that India will follow good policies and be transparent! Consider the following example. Rahul Gandhi will become Prime Minister, and the country will not be controlled by jumlas.”
Dinesh Kumar, a journalist, also tweeted the viral photograph, which received 18k likes and 2.7k retweets.
The viral photograph was discovered on the Twitter accounts of Vijay Singh, National Secretary of the Youth Congress, and Ankit Kumar Singh, a Dainik Bhaskar journalist.
We tried to determine whether the image was altered at the start of the research by using the FotoForensics Tool, which is used to verify the accuracy of any image. We reviewed the result after submitting the viral image and discovered that the image was fake and photoshopped based on the Error Level Analysis (ELA). The section of the autorickshaw that said “Desh jumlo se nahi chalega Pradhan Mantri Rahul Gandhi banega” had the highest ELA values and was in white color. The white color denotes that the image has been altered.
We also did a reverse image search of the viral image and found a tweet from journalist Devraj Singh Mandani. He posted a similar image, but it had a different slogan inscribed on it: “Zindagi bhar paidal chalega to bhi tu Pradhan Mantri nahi ban sakega” (Even if you walk for the rest of your life, you will not be able to become the prime minister).
Our team again used the FotoForensics tool to check the authenticity of this image. The picture remained black after being analyzed. According to the website, the original picture is one in which the image remains black. There was no tampering done with this image.
The viral image shared by Congress leaders and a few journalists was photoshopped and fake. The original image has slogan “Zindagi bhar paidal chalega to bhi tu Pradhan Mantri nahi ban sakega” written on the autorickshaw.
The Congress has always tried to portray Rahul Gandhi as a viable contender for Prime Minister, and in order to do so, they have many times used cheap techniques.
