According to the report, the two individuals arrested were not ordinary civilians but terrorists. On May 19, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces arrested two terrorists—Zahid Ahmad Sheikh of DK Pora and Anwar Khan of Kathwa—in the DK Pora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

The arrests took place during a joint operation launched by the Army’s 34RR, Shopian Police, and CRPF 178 Battalion. From them, two pistols, two magazines, dozens of rounds, two grenades, and other incriminating materials were recovered. An FIR has been registered against them under Sections 13, 18, 20, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Section 7/27 of the Indian Arms Act.
