Scripted Video of Father-Daughter Marriage Shared as Real

A video is going viral on social media in which a Hindu man claims to be in a romantic relationship with his daughter and says he plans to marry her soon. While sharing the video, a handle named Sunshine wrote, “What kind of custom is marriage between father and daughter?” (Archived link)

Another handle wrote, “Indian father decides to leave his wife and marry their daughter.” (Archived link)

Fact Check

In our fact check, we took a screenshot of the video and performed a reverse image search, which led us to find the same video shared on Instagram.

In the video, a disclaimer appears after a few seconds, stating that the video is entirely scripted and has no connection to reality. The video was created for entertainment purposes. The video was produced by a creator named Kanhaiya Singh.

After this, we scrutinized the social media handles of Kanhaiya Singh and found many similar scripted videos on his channels.
