On November 10, 2022, G Kishan Reddy, from the BJP, sharing the infographic claimed in his tweet that 21.2% schools across Telangana do not have a functional girls toilet.

Furthermore, the TRS party’s social media convenor, Sathish Reddy, in his response to Kishan Reddy, refuted the data shared by Kishan and termed it false, claiming that 66% of schools in India lack internet, 87% lack library projectors, and more than 50% lack sufficient teachers under Modi administration.

Fact Check

In our research, we acquired the data from Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE). After reviewing the data, we discovered that schools in Telangana state have a total of 42408 toilets for females, of which 33428 are operational. As many as 8,980 toilets for girls are not functioning, accounting for 21.2 percent. Out of 21.2 per cent, around 13 per cent toilets are non functional in Government schools.

Furthermore, we examined the statistics shared by Sathish Reddy, which said that 66% of schools in India lack internet connectivity, 87% lack library projectors, and more than 50% lack sufficient instructors, and discovered that he was citing all of these figures from UDISE. He was denying the statistics from UDISE and calling it false while citing the figures from the same source to attack Modi ruled states.
