The National President of The Indian Youth Congress BV Srinivas mocked PM Modi by posting his clip with a caption
“अब सिर्फ 6 दिन बाकी है,
सभी को घर, घर में नल, नल में जल
घर में गैस, बिजली का कनेक्शन,
LED BULB मिलने वाला है”
Through his tweet, he is conveying that Prime Minister Modi had promised to give every citizen access to power, housing, tap water, and LPG gas by the 75th anniversary of Independence Day. However, even though there are just six days till the 75th anniversary of our independence, he has not kept his promises.
On the same day, news portal Bolta Hindustan shared the tweet by BV Srinivas with the same caption on its timeline.
Using a reverse image search tool, we discovered that the video clip shared in the post is taken from a speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he was addressing a public meeting on November 26, 2018, in Beneshwar Dham, Rajasthan.
In the video, it can be seen that while addressing the public meeting PM Modi cited his dream of providing every person access to electricity, pucca homes, LED lighting, tap water, and LPG gas by the country’s 75th anniversary of independence on 2022.

After conducting the study on the subject, we established the State/UT-wise details of houses that are built under the scheme of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban ( PMAY-U) which was launched by PM Modi on June 25, 2015. In accordance with the plan, Under the scheme, 114.06 lakh houses have been sanctioned so far. 52.55 lakh of the sanctioned dwellings have been delivered, leaving 89.36 lakh to be grounded for construction.

In May 2015, the PM Modi introduced the GRAM UJALA scheme for rural households, under which it aims to distribute LED bulbs. According to the report, over 36.70 crores of LED bulbs have been provided across India in 7 years.
We discovered that PM Modi had announced the Jal Jeevan Shakti initiative in 2019 with the goal of supplying every rural home with functional household tap connections (FHTC) by 2024, with 55 litre of water per person per day. Under this scheme till date 100 districts in the country have become ‘Har Ghar Jal.’
According to the Ministry of Jal Shakti, 9.02 crore families obtained tap water service via the Jal Jeevan project between October 2, 2020, and February 18, 2022.
According to the Ministry of Jal Shakti report in 2021-2022, Rs. 26,940 crore has been allocated to States. Plus there is assured funding of Rs. 1,42,084 crore for the next five years i.e. up to 2025-2026 for the scheme.
Going by the report of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, from August 15, 2019, to February 18, 2022, tap water connections were made available to 123.83 lakh people in JE/AES impacted districts and 136.65 lakh homes in aspirational districts.
Between October 2, 2020, and February 18, 2021, the Jal Shakti Mission programme supplied potable water to 8.67 lakh Anganwadi centres (78%) and 8.47 lakh schools (82%) for the benefit of the children’s health.
According to the report by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the North West States have been provided with tap water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme.
Moreover, on May 1, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0. Under the scheme from FY 2014-2015 to FY 2021-2022, growth of 62% in LPG sales has been observed.
The above data and facts state that the claim made by BV Srinivas, National President of The Indian Youth Congress, and by the fake news peddler Bolta Hindustan is deceptive.
