Fact Check

To verify the video, we extracted different keyframes from the video and ran a reverse image search. It was found that the advertisement featuring television actress Sayantani Ghosh was posted by Prega News on its official YouTube page to celebrate Women’s Day in 2022.

The title reads “Celebrate Women’s Day 2022 With Prega News.” The description of the video reads, “Being a mom is extremely rewarding, but does that ever take a toll on your ambitions and dreams? This Women’s Day with Prega News, it’s time to break free from the nay-sayers of society and bring in confidence to women that #SheCanCarryBoth!”

Prega News ad celebrating Women’s day

The original Prega news advertisement featured a senior district law and order officer, both a mother and a public servant, giving a befitting reply to a woman who tried to underline the difficulties of being a mother and a professional. The advertisement makes an attempt to glorify the strength of women and to convey the message that a woman can carry both. She can be a mother as well as a working professional.

Additionally, the original video also features the Prega News logo on the top right corner of the video. However, Congress supporters have edited the logo of Prega News to make it appear that the advertisement is released by Congress, promoting the Mahalakshmi scheme, which ought to deposit Rs 1 lakh every year in the bank accounts of women.

Conclusion: The advertisement featuring television actress Sayantani Ghosh which is making rounds on X with a claim that Congress has released a new advertisement promoting the Mahalaxmi scheme is false. The advertisement is from Prega News which was released to celebrate Women’s Day in 2022.
