A video is going viral on social media showing passengers stuck inside a flight. It is being claimed along with the video that an Air India flight in Chicago was forced to return after 10 hours because the toilets were clogged, leaving Indian passengers trapped inside the flight with no restroom.

In our fact-check research, we conducted a keyword search related to this matter and found a report by India Today. According to the report, this incident took place on March 11, 2025. An Air India flight en route to Delhi from Chicago was forced to returned to the U.S city due to clogged toilets.
Approximately one hour and forty-five minutes into the flight, eight of the twelve lavatories became unusable because passengers had flushed inappropriate items, such as polythene bags, rags, and clothes, causing blockages.

According to the post’s caption, the video reportedly shows Air India passengers at London’s Gatwick Airport who were confined inside the aircraft for seven hours due to a flight delay.
