Fact Check
During the investigation of the claim, we reverse-searched the keyframes of the viral video.
During this, we found a picture similar to the video posted on journalist Harjinder Sidhu’s Instagram on April 26, 2025. According to him, this picture is from Akhara village in Ludhiana district, where police baton-charged villagers protesting against a toxic biogas plant.

Upon searching on Google with this information, we found reports published in Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar on April 26, 2025. According to reports, villagers from Akhara village near Jagraon town in Ludhiana had been protesting for several months against the establishment of biogas factories in the area.

To end the protest, the administration deployed a large police force on the morning of April 26. Senior police officers requested the protesting women and men to vacate the protest site. However, when the protestors resisted, the police carried out a baton charge and chased away the slogan-shouting crowd from the fields.
