Recently, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was on her visit to India, during her visit a photo of Shiekh Hasina and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is going viral on social media.
This photo was shared by the Amroha (UP) Congress Social Media Department on Facebook with the claim that ‘Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met Priyanka Gandhi in New Delhi.’
Our team conducted research to check the claim’s authenticity by Congress Social media team and its followers. After searching through some keywords ‘PM Sheikh Hasina recent visit to India’, ‘Priyanka Gandhi recent meet with Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina’, we found a photo on Priyanka Gandhi’s official Twitter account which was exactly the same as the viral photo.
This photo was tweeted by Priyanka Gandhi on October 6, 2019, where she wrote about meeting with Sheikh Hasina, this hug of Sheikh Hasina Ji was awaited from a long time. Leaving the struggles of life and personal losses behind, she made her way firmly. She has always been a great source of inspiration to me.
Further searching on the internet about this meeting we found that Sheikh Hasina was on a 4-day visit to India at that time. During her visit she met former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi.
However, amidst the recent visit of Sheikh Hasina, on September 6, 2022, she did not meet Priyanka Gandhi but her brother Rahul Gandhi. The picture of this meeting has also been posted on Twitter by news agency ANI quoting All India Congress Committee.
It is clear from the analysis of all the points that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina did not meet Priyanka Gandhi in her recent visit to India, the viral photo is 3 years old.
