On April 22, 2023, a video went viral on social media, showing a woman creating a ruckus inside a mosque. However, before her identity could be revealed, various social media accounts started claiming that the woman is a Hindu. Another Twitter handle with the name Mohammad Zubair Khan shared the video and wrote, A hindu woman entered a mosque in USA, Virginia. Police was called and she was kicked out. She should be charged. These dirty animals are more than invertebrates. They are spreading their dirt everywhere.

An alleged Fact-Checking media company named Avaaz24 shared the video and claimed that the woman in the video is a Hindu and that the incident took place in a mosque during the Eid prayers in Virginia, USA. According to Avaaz24, the woman climbed onto the mimbar, created a ruckus, and used offensive language towards Muslims.

Apart from this, a Saudi news paper named ALMARSD also shared the alleged video and claimed that a Hindu woman who tried to stop Eid al-Fitr prayers inside a mosque in America was arrested by America Police.

While some Twitter accounts have claimed that the woman is a Hindu who made Islamophobic remarks, others have gone further, claiming that the woman was a suicide bomber who had come to attack the mosque. Sardar Zahid H Daudpota’s tweet is one such example. According to his tweet, a Hindu suicide bomber was arrested at a Virginia mosque, just moments before she could detonate her explosives.

Another Twitter handle named Tariq Saeed, also claimed that a Hindu woman attempted to attack a mosque in Virginia.

So, is it true that the woman who created ruckus inside the mosque was a Hindu woman? Let’s Fact Check.

Fact Check

During our investigation, we first searched for credible news reports about the incident in which a woman caused a disturbance inside a mosque in Virginia. However, our keyword search with the words “Hindu woman in Virginia mosque” did not yield any results. Despite this, we continued our investigation, and through a relevant keyword search on Twitter, we were able to determine that the viral video was from the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Mosque in Virginia.

As part of our investigation into the incident at the ADAMS Mosque in Virginia, our team looked for an official statement from the mosque regarding the incident. After some searching, we found the official Facebook page of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS). Next, we came across a post on the FB page of ADAMS from April 22, 2023. In this post, the ADAMS clarified that the recent incident at the mosque on Friday, April 21st during the ADAMS Sterling, Virginia, Eid prayer, involved an individual from the Muslim community who was struggling with mental health issues.

Apart from this, they also posted a clarification regarding the viral video on their Instagram handle as well.

So, all these points prove that the woman seen in a viral video interrupting Eid prayers and creating ruckus in a mosque in Virginia, USA, was not Hindu but a Muslim woman with mental health issues. This also shows that all these individuals, media agenices, and newspaper had a malicious agenda and were trying to give the incident a communal angle in order to further their evil propaganda.
