No, the Muslim youth was not thrashed by the Hindu extremists

On December 18, 2022, anti-Hindu editor of The Jamia Times Ahmed Khabeer tweeted, “Hindu extremists mercilessly thrashed a Muslim youth in Kerekadu, Mulki, Karnataka.” The young man who was attacked is identified as Dawood, a resident of Haleyangadi Koppal. Dawood has been admitted to the Mulki Government Hospital for immediate treatment,” he added.

So, from his tweet, it was clear that he was targeting Hindus and trying to project the Muslim youth who was beaten as completely innocent.

So, is it true that the Hindus beat an innocent Muslim youth for no reason? Let’s Fact Check.

During our research, with the help of a keyword search, we came across a report by Amar Ujala. As per the report, the person who was beaten was not innocent. He molested a minor girl in the Kerekadu village of Mulki in Mangaluru, for which he was beaten by the minor girl’s father along with two others.

However, the accused who molested the minor girl has been arrested under the POSCO Act, according to Shashikumar, Police Commissioner, Mangaluru. Moreover, the girl’s father, along with two other persons who beat the molester, has also been arrested under IPC 324 and sections of rioting.

So, it is clear that there was no involvement of Hindu extremists in the whole case, as claimed by Ahmed Khabeer, as the guy who molested the minor girl was beaten by the girl’s father and two others. Hence, the claims of Ahmed Khabeer are misleading.
