On Saturday evening, senior National Congress party politician Baba Siddiqui, a three-time former MLA, was shot dead by three assailants. Siddiqui was walking to his car when the shooters fired six to seven rounds at him. He sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Following the attack, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder and issued a warning, stating that anyone who supports actor Salman Khan, near whose house warning shots were previously fired, would be targeted.
Amidst this, a video of Salman Khan has gone viral on social media, in which he can be heard saying, “You think you’re very brave, right? Are you brave enough to carry your dead parents on your shoulders? Will you be able to tell them to cremate you?” Social media users are circulating the video, claiming that the actor is issuing a direct warning to Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang.

Fact check
We began our fact-check by conducting a reverse image search of the viral video. The search led us to a video published on Sansad TV on April 16, 2020. In this video, Salman Khan is seen delivering a strong message to people violating COVID-19 protocols.
In the video, Salman Khan said, “It’s shocking. When doctors and nurses come to save your life from COVID, you throw stones at them. Patients are seen fleeing from hospitals. Are you running towards life or death? If doctors don’t treat you and the police don’t enforce COVID rules, then a few people who think they won’t contract the virus will end up spreading it to many others. I understand the plight of those who have nothing to eat or can’t provide for their children. I salute those who are enduring these tough times. It’s commendable. It feels like India is united at heart, but because of a few fools, COVID is spreading rapidly. If you continue to act this way, the police will have no choice but to take strict action. If what you’re doing was right, thousands of police officers, doctors, nurses, and others wouldn’t have contracted the virus. Many lives could have been saved, and by now, life would have returned to normal. COVID started in China and is now over there, but because of a few stupid people, India has been suffering for a long time. Let’s assume you’re powerful and brave. Are you brave enough to carry your dead parents on your shoulders? Will you be able to tell them to cremate you? Everything has two sides, and this situation is no different: either we all survive, or no one does. You decide.”
In conclusion, Bollywood actor Salman Khan did not issue a warning to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi or his gang. The video in question is over four years old and shows Khan delivering a stern message to people violating COVID-19 guidelines, putting others’ lives at risk.
