In the midst of the choas in Punjab, a new face, Amrit Pal Singh, has been invoking fear in the state of Punjab by emerging as the new cult preacher of the Khalistani separatist movement. The Khalistan movement sought a separate nation for Sikhs. Amrit Pal, who appears to have been inspired by the Bhindarnwale, made headlines after demanding the release of Lovepreet Toofan from jail.
Amidst all this, a fake news peddler and AAP leader, Naresh Balyan made a shocking claim. He claimed that the BJP leader and his aide, Prem Nath Mehani, had given Amrit Pal their four-wheeler, a swanky Mercedes SUV. Besides, he questioned the BJP’s hypocrisy while indicating that the BJP has close ties with the extremist Amrit Pal.
Furthermore, using the keyword search “Prem Nath Mehani,” we found that the Twitter user SadarJi Singh made the same claim on February 25.

In the first step of our research, we tried to verify who owned the vehicle. With the help of the Parivahan website, we found that the SUV indeed belonged to Prem Nath Mehani. It was registered on May 17, 2019, in Haryana.
However, our team contacted the owner and found that Mehani had sold his SUV in September, 2022. He sold his car to T&T Motors Pvt. Ltd. on September, 30.
Additionally, the Indian Express report states the T&T dealership sold the vehicle to another person, Amit Verma. Furthermore, on January 5, 2023, Amit sold the vehicle to Ravel Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran, Punjab. Later, Ravel gave the car to Guru Sewa. Hence, there is no connection between Mehani and Amrit Pal, which Naresh Balyan is trying to establish.
Furthermore, our team tried to know the relationship between the BJP and Prem Nath Mehani. The Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC) hosted a facilitation gathering in 2014. for Dr. Mahesh Sharma, who was then elected as a member of Parliament from Gautam Budh Nagar. Prem Nath Mehani, a member of the NAEC, was also present at the event along with the other members.
Just because, the event was hosted for the BJP member, where Mehani is the member doesn’t mean that the party has close ties with the said person.
Hence, after analyzing all the aspects, the claims made by Naresh Balyan are fake. Moreover, the BJP and Amrit Pal do not have any connections. Also, these people are purposefully attempting to create a connection that never existed.
