Fact Check
We started our research with the reverse image search using the Dupli checker tool. Our reverse image search led us to a few results. Further, one result showed the YouTube video by the India Today. The video was titled “Pakistani National Held in Akhnoor Sector was Trained by Lashkar-e-Taiba.” The video was uploaded six years ago. So, the incident is not from recent or present.
Furthermore, the video revealed that a terrorist named Abdul Qayum was arrested by the BSF in the Kashmir region. Abdul is a Pakistani citizen of Sialkot. We also found that during interrogation terrorist Abdul disclosed that he had taken training from terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. Besides, he was assigned the task of collecting funds and distributing jihadi magazines for the Muzaffarabad-based terror outfit.
Besides, we conducted a keyword search for “Abdul Qayum arrested in Kashmir” and came across a Business Standard report. Besides, according to the report, Abdul Qayum was arrested in September of 2016. Moreover, he was arrested after attempting to breach the Line of Control (LoC). A mobile phone with a two SIM card were confiscated from him.
Hence, given the aforementioned facts, the claim that the RSS sent weaponry and money to terrorist, Abdul Qayum, in order for him to carry out an attack against Hindus is false. Abdul Qayum was a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba, not the RSS. Thus, the claim by the Twitter user Angel is false.
