On October 19, 2022, a Twitter user Ahmed Khabeer, shared a video tagging Ghaziabad Police in his tweet and claimed that a large number of homemade bombs, firecrackers, and other items were allegedly recovered from the house of a Bajrang Dal member during a police raid in Aman Garden Colony under the Loni police station. Later, he removed his tweet.
Fact Check
Our team sought to get the Ghaziabad police’s response because the issue is related to that city. We looked through the Ghaziabad Police’s Twitter account and found a tweet that stated that a person had been arrested at the Loni Police Station for making illegal firecrackers using a significant amount of semi-manufactured/manufactured explosive firecracker material.
The Ghaziabad Police statement was also linked to a tweet. According to the statement, Rizwan has been arrested with six bags of firecrackers by police at the Loni Police Station based on information they have learned about the manufacturing of illegal firecrackers. The illegal fireworks were seized from Dilshad’s residence on Nithari Road. His other four accomplices, Dilshad, Naushad, Akash, and Gaurav, fled the scene and search is going on. The residential details of Akash and Gaurav, two of the four missing accused, are still unknown.
Based on our research, we discovered that Dilshad’s home was the location from where the Loni police seized a sizable quantity of illegal fireworks, not the home of a Bajrang Dal member. The claim made by Twitter user Ahmed Khabeer is misleading.
