The pro-Congress account, @/NarundarM, tweeted a video which shows a few Army soldiers and police officers shoving a train coaches. The user attempted to convey that the army jawans and police officers were pushing a train since it was not starting.

Apart from that, the National President of Indian Youth Congress, Srinivas, known for spreading misinformation often, taking jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party, shared the same video of the train and wrote that this is a new ninja technique to start a train in New India.

The another Hinduphobic account, @/B5001001101, sharing the video wrote, “Jawans & passengers were trying to push a train as it stopped abruptly. In 70 years, have you ever seen such a government?’

Fact Check

In our fact check, we found an article by Telangana Today. According to the report, on July 7, 2023, Train No. 12703, the Falaknuma Express, caught a fire, which runs between Howrah and Secunderabad. The incident occurred near the Pagidipalli railway station in Bommaipalli, in the Yadadri-Bhongir region.

Passengers pulled the chain as sparks started to fly towards the ceiling, and an SOS was sent to the nearby Bhongir fire station. Passengers were successfully evacuated before the crisis resulted in a fatal outcome. There were no casualties or injuries recorded.

According to Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar, all passengers were successfully evacuated and shifted to buses. The railroads, the police, and the fire department coordinated their efforts. Eleven of the 18 coaches were detached and taken away safely to the railway station in Secunderabad. The cause of the fire is still unknown. The officials are considering it as a fire accident since no sabotage angle was found.

We also came across a tweet from a spokesperson for the railway, who clarified that, as shown in the video, locals, police officers and railway officials were pushing the train coaches to prevent the fire from spreading. They could not wait for the arrival of the engine, therefore, they took quick action and started detaching the coaches.

Hence, the claims made by Srinivas and the other two Twitter users are false. The reason the train coaches were being pushed was because it was crucial to stop the fire from spreading in this circumstance before it could lead to a major tragedy.
